Giving Back

Crocheters and Knitters are a giving bunch!  Many enjoy making items for others - often just giving them away - and many like to pray or think about the person who might receive the item they are making.  It is often hoped that these thoughts and prayers of good will get transferred to the recipient.

There are all sorts of charity crafting groups out there, you might be familiar with prayer shawl groups, preemie knit caps for hospitals, or caps for chemo patients.  These are just a few of the ways that stitchers are able to donate their time and craft to others.  Handmade items represent something warm and comforting to so many people, it's easy to see why so many stitchers like to dedicate their time to these causes.

At DYNT we like to encourage this sort of creativity.  From time to time we pair up, work with, or collect items for local organizations that can use our help.  Often we collect handmade items, but we've also held food drives for local food pantries and collected monetary donations for other organizations.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

#hatnothate

We are collecting BLUE hats for the #hatnothate anti - bullying project.

Hats must be blue, should fit anyone over the age of 5 (15" - 21" circumference) and must be handed in by July 27th so we can get them to the distribution center in time for them to distribute them as part of National Anti-bullying month, which is October.

Please include a brief note indicating the fiber content.  Any fiber is acceptable, they just ask that we identify it.

For more information, please read our blog about it here.

We have wooden  #hatnothate tags available at DYNT too.  These would look great sewn onto your donation!
